About Me

I’m Nicole. This website was born out of a lifelong dream to be a writer and little nudge (*shove*) from God to put my dream into motion. I’m so thankful to be able to claim this little corner of the internet.

I love to write about finding joy in the everyday moments, and working through tough times by drawing closer to God. Occasionally I’ll throw in a few anecdotes about raising teen girls, but not too many because, shockingly, they don’t love having their every move documented on the internet.

My hope is to provide you with some encouragement, a little chuckle, and a place to clear your head.

A few facts about me…

I’ve been married to my prom date for 21 years. We have two teenage daughters who are the absolute delight of our lives and also the reason I color my hair.

I’m a child of the 80’s and will argue that it’s the best decade there ever was. It was a glorious time, where Cap’n Crunch and Capri Sun flowed like milk and honey, and Free Range Parenting was just called parenting.

My love language is pop culture references and funny memes. Bonus points if those two things are combined.

Humor is my favorite coping mechanism.

I’m a southern girl, having lived the majority of my life in Texas. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University where, while earning a degree, I also attended Breakaway Bible Study where I met Jesus. I have never been the same.

I’m imperfect in all the annoying ways. Mercifully, Jesus meets me right where I am. And I know He’ll meet you right where you are, too.

While Texas will always have a place in my heart (and good Tex-Mex will always be my weakness), I now live in Colorado and am thoroughly enjoying the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and experiencing four actual seasons each year.

I’m a former elementary school teacher, and I feel so honored to have held that title in this lifetime. As a result, I am highly skilled in the areas of giving “the look”, eating lunch in 4 minutes, and holding my bladder for an entire afternoon. Please be impressed.

I’m so glad you stopped by! Feel free to stay a while!
